Pure Aura Medical and Aesthetics is a private fee-for-service clinic. This means your medical fees will not be covered under Saskatchewan Health Benefits (your health card) and you will be required to pay out of pocket.
Please check if your private insurance plan has a health spending account to reimburse you for Nurse Practitioner Medical services.
Additionally, Nurse Practitioner Medical services can be claimed on your tax return. You will be provided with a service receipt on business letterhead for your tax purposes.
Note: Aesthetics services are not eligible under the Medical Expense Tax Credit.
Learn more about the Medical Expense Tax Credit on the Government of Canada Website:
Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are Registered Nurses with graduate-level preparation which extends their scope of practice to assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe medication, order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab work, and make referrals to specialists within their autonomous and legislated scope of practice. They provide evidence-based care by integrating their knowledge, skills and clinical practice guidelines with patient-centred care.
Currently there is no insured healthcare billing option for nurse practitioners to be remunerated by the government for their medical services as physicians do. Similar to other healthcare professionals who provide uninsured healthcare services (like chiropractors, physiotherapists, dentists, and others) some 3rd party private insurance companies may provide coverage for healthcare professionals like Nurse Practitioners. Please check if your private insurance benefits will provide you with this coverage.
Pure Aura Medical and Aesthetics utilizes Telus Health eClaims service to directly bill your private insurance company for medical services only. Aesthetics services are considered elective procedures and are not covered by private insurance. Every private insurance company has different levels of coverage for healthcare expenses and may or may not have deductibles. This is why it is recommended for you to check what level of coverage you are eligible for. Patients are responsible for paying any portion of fees not covered by their private insurance.
Pure Aura Medical and Aesthetics utilizes the Jane app for all appointment booking and secure fee processing of both medical service and aesthetic service appointments. Telus MedAccess is utilized as the documentation platform for all medical appointments, as it has full functionality for delivering medically focused services. Jane is used for documenting aesthetic services as it has better functionality for aesthetics focused appointments. Pure Aura Medical and Aesthetics has policies and procedures that strictly adhere to the Health Information Protection Act (HIPA), ensuring the privacy and safety of your personal information.
